The appeal: The Tipline for 6 December 2018
This morning, the Department of Justice’s antitrust division will try to persuade three federal appellate judges that a district court erred in allowing AT&T and Time Warner to merge. The parties will have 30 minutes each at the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Antitrust Division newcomer Michael Murray will make the government’s case, while Sidley Austin partner Peter Keisler steps up for AT&T. We will also be at New York University School of Law for a Federal Trade Commission hearing on common ownership.
