In 2008, Jaroslaw Sroczynski teamed up with Professor Ryszard Markiewicz from Jagiellonian University in Krakow to establish Markiewicz & Sroczynski, a boutique focusing on competition, intellectual property, privacy and other regulatory issues.

Sroczynski spent some time at DG Comp before joining Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak. He was also a regional director of Poland's competition authority.

Who's Who nominee Sroczynski is supported by one counsel and one associate. He hopes to corner a gap in the Polish market for the interface between intellectual property and competition law, as well as addressing regulatory issues.

In 2008, Jaroslaw Sroczynski, a Who's Who nominee for several years, established Markiewicz & Sroczynski GP, a boutique law firm focusing on antitrust, competition, consumer and intellectual property. He left Soltysinski, Kawecki & Szlezak, after heading competition practice there for over 13 years. The new firm's other partner is Professor Ryszard Markiewicz, one of Poland's best known specialists of copyright law.

Jaroslaw Sroczynski continues to advise on major cases. The firm is advising on a collective dominance violation case on the bitumen market. The firm regularly advises Netia, the country's second largest telecom operator, and is a Polish advisor to Fakro, a producer of roof windows, in the dominance abuse complaint submitted to the EU Commission against competitor Velux.

In 2008, Jaroslaw Sroczynski has been advising clients on competition law issues related to the homeopathic drugs market, cross-border energy transactions, book distribution market, DIY market, etc.

On the concentration front, Markiewicz & Sroczynski provided advise to MediaTel, a telecom service provider. The firm also assisted clients in competition issues of transactions related to airport operation activities and the construction industry.

The firm also organized an extensive training compliance program for its client from the metallurgical sector.
