Professional notice

Axinn Veltrop & Harkrider LLP is one of only two boutiques to feature in our survey of New York in the 9th edition of the GCR 100.

Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP

Although it has other strengths - intellectual property and litigation - it has made its name in antitrust since its foundation in 1997, when Stephen M Axinn, James Veltrop and John Harkrider left Skadden, where Axinn had been head of antitrust. Both he and Harkrider are Who's Who nominees. They were hired as special assistant attorneys general to represent the Department of Justice in the WorldCom/Sprint merger challenge. In New York, the firm fields four antitrust partners and 13 associates.

Axinn Veltrop recently advised Takeda Pharamceutical in its US$8.8 billion acquisition of Millennium; software company Take-Two on Electronic Arts' US$2 billion unsolicited takeover bid; and Omnicare on its Sherman Act conspiracy claim against United HealthGroup and PacificCare. The firm is also advising a "major European freight carrier" regarding a criminal price-fixing investigation by the Department of Justice's antitrust division.

At Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP, our reputation for obtaining results and unwavering commitment to integrity make us the law firm of choice for antitrust litigation and counselling services for mission-critical matters.
