Chicago antitrust star Amy B Manning leads the Chicago-based antitrust group at MCGUIREWOODS. The firm handles a considerable amount of litigation work in Chicago and elsewhere, dabbling in multiple industries.
Over the past year, counsel Richard Greenberg went to bat for Methodist Health Services in its antitrust claim against defendant and rival hospital Saint Francis Medical Center. The Seventh Circuit rejected its claim earlier this year, with Judge Richard Posner writing the opinion. Meanwhile, Manning and others advise Fresenius Kabi in a lawsuit accusing Par, a subsidiary of Endo Pharmaceuticals, of abusing its monopoly by blocking rivals acquiring the active molecule in a critical antidiuretic drug. That case survived a motion to dismiss early this year. Manning also acts for Tyson Foods in the ongoing chicken price-fixing class action.
