Who's Who nominee and "brilliant thinker" Mads Magnussen oversaw a prolific year as competition head at Wikborg Rein. The competition team handled more than 200 cases across a broad range of issues for some of Norway's largest companies, including state-owned hospital group Helse Sør-Øst RHF, seafood giant Marine Harvest and Nettbuss, Norway's largest bus company.
The firm acted for media group A-pressen in its acquisition of rival Halden Arbeiderblad, and advised telecoms giant TeliaSonera over its purchase of competitior Tele 2. Other matters include defending Nor-Way Bussekspress in a competition authority cartel investigation, implementing company compliance programmes, and representing ferry operator Fjord Line in a damages action, to name but a few. The firm also acts as a trustee for the competition authority on merger cases.
Magnussen is supported by partners Morten Goller, former authority official Jonn Ola Sørensen and Øystein Meland. Seven senior associates and seven associates make up one of Norway's largest competition practices.
