The recent merger with smaller rival Lang Michener LLP has only added to the already considerable size and experience of McMillan LLP's competition group. The 17-partner team, including Who's Who nominees A Neil Campbell, James B Musgrove and D Martin Low QC, now boasts as much talent and expertise as any firm in the country.
Recent cartel matters include acting for Air France/KLM in the air cargo cartel investigation and class action; Micron Technology in the DRAM, SRAM and flash memory investigations; Hershey in the high-profile chocolate cartel investigation; LG Electronics in the cathode ray tube investigation and follow-on action; Seiko Epson in the LCD cartel investigation and class action; and a host of others.
The McMillan practice has also been front and centre in marquee mergers. Recent deals include acting for Coca-Cola in its recent bottling transaction, Sanofi-Aventis in its animal health deal with rival Merck and LiveNation in its highly contentious deal with Tickemaster, and others. Lawyers from the Lang Michener competition group have recently advised Kraft on its purchase of Cadbury, as well as on the sale of its frozen pizza business to Nestle. Elsewhere, the Lang Michener team helped Rogers Communications with the formation of a joint venture with MTS Allstream.
