Arntzen de Besche increased its competition operations after the firm took over rival Schjødt's Trondheim office in November last year.
Who's Who entrant and practice leader Stein Ove Solberg says the new office has brought more business opportunities. The team has grown through the addition of Trondheim partner Jon Reidar Gresseth, and more junior lawyers, bringing the total to three partners, three senior associates and four associates.
The firm has acted in an impressive five merger cases this year, including US oilfield services giant Baker Hughes' US$5.5 billion acquisition of BJ Services. It also represented Grunnarbeid in an alleged bid-rigging investigation brought by the competition authority, which has been challenged in Norway's Court of Appeal.
