Anderson Mori & Tomotsune is a full-service law firm that provides an extraordinarily powerful value proposition. We have the capability to: (1) serve a multinational client base, (2) on inbound, outbound and domestic projects, (3) by providing expert, timely and cost-efficient advice, (4) across a full range of legal issues, and (5) in the largest, most complex, cross-sector transactions.
We are proud of our long tradition of serving international business and legal communities and our reputation as one of the leading full-service law firms in Japan. Our combined expertise enables us to deliver comprehensive advice on virtually all legal issues that may arise from a corporate transaction, including those related to M&A, competition and antitrust, finance, capital markets and restructuring/insolvency, as well as litigation/arbitration. The majority of our lawyers are bilingual and experienced with communicating, drafting and negotiating across borders and around the globe. We welcome the opportunity to work closely with clients and channel our resources towards our goal of achieving more together.
We are headquartered in Tokyo with branch offices in Osaka and Nagoya. Outside Japan, we have offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok and London. We also have associated firms in Hong Kong, Jakarta and Singapore.
Competition/Antitrust - Not only is competition law legislation constantly changing but the enforcement practices of competition agencies are often different from the black-letter law of statutes, ordinances or guidelines. It is therefore essential for companies to obtain advice from experts with extensive knowledge as well as practical experience from the latest enforcement cases and who can advise on the enforcement trends of both the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) and international competition enforcement agencies. AMT has an extensive track record in matters relating to the Japanese Antimonopoly Act as well as aspects of international competition law, including matters involving foreign antitrust agencies. Our competition team consists of attorneys who have experience working at the JFTC and the European Commission, enabling AMT to provide first-class legal advice on the whole spectrum of competition and antitrust law.
