MIJARES ANGOITIA CORTÉS Y FUENTES SC’s competition practice is co-chaired by partners Francisco Fuentes, Pilar Mata and Carlos Orcí, who lead a team of three associates. Former senior associate Orcí was promoted to partner in April 2020.

The firm advised SoftBank on its €105.8 million investment in Alpha Credit, a Latin American-focused financial technology platform, and also acted for SoftBank in its investment in Mexican payment service provider PayClip. The practice also represented petrochemical company Alpek in the sale of its two Mexican cogeneration energy plants. Much of the company’s other work is confidential.
