Amilcar Peredo chairs the antitrust practice at BASHAM RINGE Y CORREA SC, which includes fellow partner Rodolfo Barreda, one counsel and three associates. Fernanda Garza was promoted to of counsel in March 2020.
Peredo led the team that advised optical products companies II-VI Incorporated and Finisar Corporation on the former’s purchase of Finisar for €2.7 billion. The firm also represented building materials manufacturer Saint-Gobain in its €33.7 million acquisition of Knauf Mexico. In other matters, Basham Ringe successfully acted for Panasonic in reducing a €2.1 million fine imposed by COFECE for gun jumping by nearly 90% in April 2019. The competition team is also representing Turkish Airlines on various antitrust matters related to its entry into the Mexican markets.
