A nearly five-year antitrust truce in the Pittsburgh medical industry may be coming to an end. With a consent decree between the region’s largest hospital chain and largest health insurer set to wind down this summer, legal challenges are flying back and forth between the state and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Also on the plate for yinz this Monday, a federal court reversed a previous decision and has sided with the Department of Justice in a challenge to alleged horizontal customer allocation by heir-location companies.
