Cyprus Commission for the Protection of Competition

The Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC) has the sole responsibility for maintaining free and fair competition in all sectors of the economy, for the purpose of economic growth and progress, and for the protection of consumer interests. The Protection of Competition Law of 2022, in conjunction with the Control of Concentrations of Undertakings Law 83(I)/2014, establishes the rules and principles that have as an objective the maintenance of effective competition within the Cypriot market. The laws entrust the CPC with the obligation to fulfil this objective and so to create conditions in which consumers are offered higher quality goods and services at competitive prices. In this way, productivity and investments of enterprises are increased as well as the creation of a climate that is favourable to continued research, innovation and technological progress.
