Law: Competition Act 2010 (Pakistan)

The Pakistani government has appointed four members to the country’s antitrust watchdog with immediate effect, giving it a quorum to make decisions for the first time since March 2022.

Rahat Hassan stepped down as chair of the Competition Commission of Pakistan today after a three-year term. She spoke to GCR about struggling to enforce antitrust laws without a quorum of commissioners, issuing record cartel fines and the future growth of the agency.
