Jenny: no convergence on excessive pricing
Whether abusively high price should be regarded as a competition law violation remains an area where the US and EU greatly diverge, as neither the faith shown in the US in the power of competition to bring down such prices nor the European United Brands and Port of Helsinbourg rulings constitute helpful guidance, the chairman of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s competition committee has said.
