Germany: Cartels

Germany has a long tradition of rigorously and effectively enforcing cartel prohibition. In 2015–2016, the Federal Cartel Office (FCO) has uncovered and investigated a large number of different competition law infringements in many different industries, and imposed fines of more than €150 million. The FCO repeatedly announced that cartel enforcement will continue to be a top priority on its enforcement agenda.
