Germany: Cartels

Germany has a long tradition of rigorously and effectively enforcing cartel prohibition. In 2014–2015, the Federal Cartel Office (FCO) has uncovered and investigated a large number of different competition law infringements in many different industries, and imposed fines of several hundred million euros. The FCO repeatedly announced that cartel enforcement will continue to be a top priority on its enforcement agenda.
