In recent years, private antitrust enforcement has gained considerable momentum (at least in some EU member states), and is now perceived as a credible and effective complement to the public enforcement of competition law undertaken by the European Commission (EC) and national competition authorities (NCAs), such as the Office of Fair Trading (OFT){{+footnote}} in the UK.
