There have been a number of developments in competition law in Turkey in the past year, driven both by the active role of the Turkish Competition Authority (the TCA) and also by Turkey’s continuing efforts towards becoming an EU member state. The past 12 months have seen a high level of activity in both antitrust and merger control, in a range of sectors and industries. The TCA is proving itself an active and vigorous enforcer of Turkish competition law, which is itself becoming a more effective and refined tool.
