As of 1998, Dutch merger review is carried out under the Dutch Competition Act (DCA) by the Dutch Competition Authority (Nederlandse Mededingingsautoriteit, (NMa)). In 2008, the number of merger notifications filed increased compared to 2007. 129 concentrations were notified with the NMa, against 108 notifications in 2007. Of the 129 notifications made, the NMa decided that four concentrations required a licence. Three licence applications were filed with the NMa, and it granted two licences in 2008.
