A new economy-wide competition law The Competition Ordinance (CO), Hong Kong’s long-awaited economy-wide competition law, was signed into law on 22 June 2012 and is expected to take full effect by mid-2015. In October 2014, the Competition Commission (the Commission) and the Communications Authority (CA) (the current sectoral competition authority for telecommunications and broadcasting) published draft guidelines on the CO (the Draft Guidelines) that explain how they intend to interpret and administer the CO.
