Insight is a commercial content stream on the GCR platform. It provides an opportunity for trusted external contributors from around the world, who are vetted for their standing and knowledge, to showcase their expertise before GCR's readers. It also allows GCR to tap a deeper well of expertise and to provide more leisurely in-depth granular analysis - accompanied by footnotes, charts and statistics, as appropriate - than the exigencies of journalism allow. Insight content is free to view to allow expert knowledge to disseminate as widely as possible.
Contributors may choose what to write within a pre-agreed set of parameters. Pieces that do not fit this are rejected.
Insight pieces are edited internally for house style and also readability. GCR edits out any direct self-promotion unless this is integral to the piece (eg, disclosing that the author was involved in a case being discussed). Authors have final approval over copy.
To make clear the relationship of commercial contributors to GCR editorial, any Insight content is clearly labelled as such.
