Worth the wait?: The Tipline for 22 October 2021

The longest wait for a confirmed assistant attorney general for antitrust has just gotten a little longer. The Senate Judiciary Committee had been slated to vote on Thursday on Jonathan Kanter’s nomination to lead the Department of Justice’s antitrust division, but that has now been pushed to next week. The committee’s chair, Senator Dick Durbin, did not elaborate on why. Also in Tipline, the Federal Trade Commission issues one of its controversial pre-consummation warning letters and Google attempts to get ahead of the antitrust scrutiny on app store commission rates.
