In a filing on Monday, counsel to Aon and Willis Towers Watson asked a federal court in Washington, DC, to take into account their “urgent need for the earliest possible trial date” in the Department of Justice’s lawsuit to block their merger. The companies have requested a trial start date near 23 August, but the government has said this would not leave enough time to develop the evidence needed to present its case to the court.
