Won’t Back Down: The Tipline for 22 April 2022

Following the less-than-ideal jury verdicts – or lack thereof – for the Department of Justice in its recent criminal cases, assistant attorney general Jonathan Kanter said he sent an email to staff telling them to listen to Tom Petty’s “I Won't Back Down” and to “dance like nobody’s watching”. “We're going to continue to bring the cases. We’re not backing down,” Kanter said yesterday at the Stigler Center’s competition conference. Federal Trade Commission chair Lina Khan speaks today at the same event.
