Republicans have taken aim at Major League Baseball, announcing legislation that would remove its antitrust exemption “in response to their hyper-partisan decision to move the 2021 MLB All-Star game and draft out of Atlanta, Georgia,” according to Senator Ted Cruz. Senator Josh Hawley, who introduced another bill earlier this week to strengthen antitrust enforcement and take on large technology companies, said that “it’s time for a new round of trustbusting” in the US – and Major League Baseball “is a great place to start.”
