Doha Mekki, the principal deputy assistant attorney general for the Department of Justice’s antitrust division, has told the competition bar to expect more merger litigation because the agency is making sure it “has the capacity to litigate at four and five and six and seven times our current docket”. Speaking at the American Bar Association’s antitrust spring meeting yesterday, Mekki also indicated that the agency was prepared to challenge mergers even before the end of an investigation.
