Feinstein denies FTC divestiture failures

The former director of the Federal Trade Commission’s bureau of competition has defended the agency’s actions in three recent mergers in which divestiture buyers rapidly gave up on operating the businesses, challenging other antitrust lawyers to say what the government should have done differently.
