Microsoft is no stranger to antitrust litigation, but the company may have forgotten where to sit in the courtroom. After years of encouraging US enforcers and legislators to take action against fellow behemoths like Google and Apple, Microsoft finds itself sitting on the opposite side of the Federal Trade Commission. In a late change of plans, the US District Court for the Northern District of California made the audio for today’s hearing available via Zoom, perhaps setting up the most listened-to antitrust trial in history. GCR is in the room, but everyone else is encouraged to dial up Netscape and party like it’s 1999.
