Viagogo/StubHub looks to restructure ticketing markets

Viagogo has agreed to purchase rival ticket reseller StubHub from eBay for $4 billion, forming an events platform with a significant footprint in both North America and the EU.

The Federal Trade Commission and House Judiciary Committee appear to be stuck in a stalemate regardless of whether their quarrel occurs in letters or public hearings. Pressed by Republican lawmakers about the FTC’s responses (or lack thereof) to various document demands, the commission’s director of congressional relations had very little to say. “I’m not able to provide that information today, but we're happy to continue talking to your staff,” Jeanne Bumpus said.
