American Airlines wanted to keep fighting for the Northeast Alliance, but JetBlue has another Department of Justice lawsuit to worry about. JetBlue said on Wednesday it has made the “difficult decision” to step back from the arrangement with American and that doing so will make the Antitrust Division’s challenge to its merger with Spirit Airlines “entirely moot”.
