The UK’s Office of Fair Trading opened an investigation into Amazon’s pricing parity policy 11 years ago this week. The US is now catching up – sort of. Private litigation alleging Amazon imposed most-favoured nation clauses will not go to trial until at least 2026. Now, Amazon says it needs an extra seven weeks to respond to the Federal Trade Commission’s “novel” application of Section 5 of the FTC Act.
