It is unclear if Google thought the Department of Justice would actually accept its offer to sell its ad auction business or if it is just looking to litigate a fix. But Bloomberg reports the two are likely to go to trial over the Antitrust Division’s concerns with Google’s advertising business as the government is not satisfied with the company’s proposed concession. Also in Tipline, the division secures a guilty plea and the City of Myrtle Beach faces allegations it has monopolised beach chair rentals.
