Congress is seeking to follow in the footsteps of Australia by proposing a law to help news organisations go head-to-head with Facebook and Google. During a hearing on Friday, Representative David Cicilline assuaged fears that this proposal would be his only attempt to rein in Big Tech. “We have a very robust antitrust agenda with many, many excellent recommendations that we intend to move forward on,” he said. “I don’t want anyone to be concerned that this is the only thing we’re going to do.”
