At age 11, Olivia Moultrie accepted a full scholarship to play soccer at the University of North Carolina. By 13, she changed her mind, deciding she was ready to go pro. The youngest team sport athlete ever to sign an endorsement deal with Nike has been training with the Portland Thorns of the National Women’s Soccer League, but a league rule requiring all players to be at least 18 years old has stopped her from signing a professional contract. Moultrie, 15, is now looking for an assist from the Sherman Act to get her shot at the big leagues.
