We got the popcorn out for this merger breakup, because it’s a doozy. Tribune Media has accused its would-be buyer Sinclair Broadcast Group of refusing to make the divestitures needed for regulatory approval. While much of the attention has been on the proceedings at the Federal Communications Commission, those at the Department of Justice sound quite colourful. It makes Tronox’s feelings toward the Federal Trade Commission – as those two litigants wrapped up a three-day trial – seem almost cordial.
