The Federal Trade Commission is requesting a penalty of up to $77.5 million against 7-Eleven for allegedly acquiring a rival Sunoco gas station in St Petersburg, Florida, without issuing the agency notice. The commission says a meaningful penalty is necessary to vindicate the agency and to deter others from settling in bad faith.
