John Sherman was granted an antitrust clearance yesterday. The federal antitrust agencies granted early termination of their review of the Missouri businessman’s purchase of the Kansas City Royals baseball team. He shares a name with the author of the first federal antitrust law, and also has a connection to the 19th-century senator’s home state of Ohio, as the new Royals owner has a minority share in the Cleveland Indians.
