Like many others in the antitrust community, we’re awaiting the release of the Supreme Court’s ruling in the American Express anti-steering case this morning. Whatever the outcome, congratulations to the Ohio attorney general’s office, which picked up the litigation when the Department of Justice decided not to seek further review after losing at the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. On Friday, the office noted that it has won a best brief award from the National Association of Attorneys General for its work in the case, with recognition for Eric Murphy, Mike Hendershot and Hannah Wilson in the appeals section and Jennifer Pratt, head of the antitrust section.
