Democrats of the world, unite! Neo-liberal and Neo-Brandiesan views on antitrust enforcement are often opposed. Only the latter group drew comparisons to Karl Marx from a Republican member of the Federal Trade Commission. Yet it appears Democrats share the same scepticism of Qualcomm. With the ashes still cooling from the FTC’s unsuccessful no-license, no-chip case, Politico reports the agency is keen to take a closer look at its plans to purchase Autotalks. Also in Tipline, the Federal Trade Commission taps a new director for its antitrust arm and Google wants the Department of Justice to accept that it has already abandoned certain issues.
