Google will face trial this autumn, but without one of its top foes breathing down its neck. The Texas State Senate will commence on 28 August to try Texas attorney general Ken Paxton following his impeachment by a Republican-led legislature. The New York Post reports that the Paxton saga may be gumming up the process for nominating a commissioner at the Federal Trade Commission as Senator Mitch McConnell has his sights on Texas’ top antitrust cop.
