Passing the baton: The Tipline for 29 September 2023

FTC v Amazon has a new judge. Judge John Coughenour of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington has recused himself from the case for unspecified reasons. The matter has been reassigned to a judge who has already denied Amazon’s bid to dismiss allegations it set an illegal price floor and is overseeing the Bureau of Consumer Protection’s dark patterns case against Amazon.
