No safe harbour for vertical mergers, FTC’s top economist says
The new director of the Federal Trade Commission’s bureau of economics has denied that vertical merger guidelines drafted by the US antitrust agencies provide any “safe harbour” for deals where the companies’ market shares are less than 20%.
