The Biden Administration is asking for the budgets of the Department of Justice’s antitrust division and the Federal Trade Commission to be increased by 48% and 26%, respectively. That would provide far less than what some in the antitrust community have recommended, but it certainly would give the agencies a fighting chance to carry out their ambitious agendas. Also in Tipline, the DOJ backs the Senate’s self-preferencing bill and Facebook gets a boost from some antitrust friends.
