Lina Khan is one step closer to becoming a member of the Federal Trade Commission after the Senate Commerce Committee on Wednesday advanced her nomination to the full chamber with bipartisan support. "I believe she is focused on addressing one of the most pressing issues of the day: reigning in the big social media platforms," said Roger Wicker, the top Republican on the committee. Four of the committee's 12 Republicans – Senators Mike Lee, Dan Sullivan, Marsha Blackburn and Cynthia Lummis – recorded the only no votes.
