Inconcrete proof: The Tipline for 15 May 2023
Another week, another acquittal for the Department of Justice. This time, a Minnesota-based concrete executive escaped bid-rigging charges that he previously condemned as lacking solid evidence and being unconstitutional. While we won’t know the jury’s reasoning, it seems the Sherman Act’s per se rule is on solid ground in criminal cases for now. Also in Tipline, hotel guests claim that even an algorithm can be the centre of a hub-and-spoke conspiracy.
