House call: The Tipline for 26 September 2019
It’s not every day that the Federal Trade Commission testifies before Congress, but this week it’s close. FTC chair Joe Simons and commissioner Rohit Chopra testified before a US House of Representatives subcommittee yesterday, but did not face the grilling that FTC bureau of competition director Bruce Hoffman did on Tuesday. On tech, Simons said that history repeats itself with exclusionary conduct again a potential antitrust concern, as it was in the 1990s.
