The acting head of the Department of Justice’s antitrust division has been acting for so long that some are starting to confuse Richard Powers for Richard Gere. Asked about the delay on Thursday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said she was not aware of any particular holdup. “Certainly, he [President Biden] wants to select and nominate the right people for each of these important positions,” she said. The only holdup that Powers has hinted at relates not to his replacement but to patents.
