Hit on all six: The Tipline for 1 December 2021
The Federal Trade Commission is getting rid of the antitrust bar’s favourite six words. For decades, the agency’s mission statement has specified it will seek to prevent anticompetitive, deceptive and unfair business practices “without unduly burdening legitimate business activity”. Its latest draft strategic plan removes that language. If the change stands, at least the bar will still hear their other favourite six words in emails from GCR reporters asking: “can you comment on this case?”
