The Senate dealt with its backlog of nominations yesterday through "en bloc" voice votes, which hustled through 70 appointees, including Democrat Jessica Rosenworcel and Republican Brendan Carr to the Federal Communications Commission. The ongoing lack of confirmation of Senator Orrin Hatch's former counsel, Makan Delrahim, appears to have inspired Hatch to prepare and make a speech that name-checked the #hipsterantitrust phrase that Dechert associate Konstantin Medvedovsky originated and Josh Wright popularised.
