Happy retirement, director Vedova: The Tipline for 15 August 2023

Holly Vedova has announced she will retire after 32 years at the Federal Trade Commission. The agency’s director of the Bureau of Competition said that working “for so long, with so many skilled, dedicated, and hard working colleagues” has been the honour of a lifetime. Vedova, who served as an attorney advisor to four commissioners since joining the FTC in 1990, played a significant role in carrying on chair Lina Khan’s aggressive stance on antitrust enforcement in the past two-plus years as the bureau’s director. “I am so proud of everything we accomplished,” she wrote, thanking the chair.
